What is the Program?

Zonta House offers the Diversity & Inclusion Program to support Victim/Survivors of FDV identifying as LGBTQIA+ and/or living with a disability.

Our goal is to raise public awareness of the unique challenges faced by these minority groups in the context of FDV, ensuring all clients are seen, heard, and supported inclusively and safely by our dedicated team.

What we offer:

Educational Workshops

  • Workshops to educate on LGBTQIA+ terminology, intersectionality and unique experiences of FDV.

Community Outreach & Advocacy

  • We are dedicated to actively engaging in joint initiatives to promote LGBTQIA+ inclusivity and best practice. Proudly attending LGBTQIA+ community events to celebrate and promote diversity and inclusion, striving to create a welcoming and supportive community for all.

What do you define as a disability?

We support women with a range of disabilities including physical, sensory, intellectual and mental health. Our services are inclusive and tailored to individual’s needs including working alongside carers and organisation’s that are already working to support you.

What if I have specific accessibility needs?

We are committed to providing accessible services to all women with disabilities. Please let us know about your specific accessibility needs, such as wheelchair accessibility, communication and visibility aids, or any other requirements, so we can support you accordingly.

Can I get help even if I’m not currently in crisis?

Yes, our support services are available for women with disabilities at any stage of their experience of FDV including those who are just seeking information, resources or planning for the future. It is never too late to reach out for help.

Can you help with financial assistance or benefits?

We can provide information on available financial assistance programs and help you navigate the application process for benefits related to disability and FDV.

Do you provide emergency refuge?

Zonta House have fully accessible refuge accommodation and we can also can also connect you with other appropriate accommodation services and resources depending on availability and safety.

Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) can happen in relationships with a partner, defacto, family member, carer, boyfriend or girlfriend.

This behaviour can be threatening, abusive, violent, coercive, stalking, controlling, making someone feel scared and/or forcing them to do things they don’t want to do.

It can occur in current or past imitate relationships, family settings, or extended family groups.
