Future Employment Connections (FEC) program is a unique program based on identified need, community gaps and research

Providing this focused and specialist support enhances the likelihood of success towards economic independence and community integration in a safe environment for women who have experienced FDV. This is through tailored and comprehensive support to set and achieve their personal goals, increase self-esteem and quality of life, provide practical assistance and provide possible pathways to work experience, volunteering and study in their desired occupation.

The program has collaborates with service providers with specialist work experience and volunteering pathways in the best interest of the safety and wellbeing of participants.

We have engaged with existing women’s social enterprises for opportunities for participants, dependent on their individual training or employment goals through individual session and groups. Support is provided through one-on-one appointments and groups.

Who can be referred to FEC?

Any woman who has been impacted by FDV and who needs support to reach their vocational goals can be referred to FEC.

How can FEC help me get a job? Are you a recruitment agency?

We provided tailored support to help you reach your employment goals. This support looks different for every woman depending on her needs.

For some women, they need help writing their resume and cover letter, applying online for jobs, and getting prepared for the interview. For other women, attending the FEC workshops, meeting other likeminded women, and exploring their options and goals can be a step in the right direction to getting into paid employment.

FEC are not a recruitment agency, and we don’t have a pool of jobs that women can apply for. We do however partner with supportive employers, and when a position becomes available, we support the participants in the program to apply.

What else does FEC help with?

We know that finding a job or starting a course can feel overwhelming. FEC aim to make the transition to work or study smoother and can tailor our support to suit your needs.

We run workshops geared towards educating and empowering women to reach their employment and education goals, we can support you to obtain clearances required for employment, we can help you navigate your relationship with your job active provider, and we can explore how your VISA impacts your ability to work and study in Australia.

How does FEC help me study? Do you pay for tuition fees?

At FEC we believe that studying is a brilliant pathway towards achieving your career goals and economic independence.

While we don’t pay tuition fees, we are aware of the free courses, can support you to test your eligibility and apply to study, see how your overseas qualification may be recognised, explore how your VISA may impact your eligibility to study, and we have strong relationships with registered training organisations who we can refer you to.

I’m an employer and I want to partner with FEC and support women who have experienced violence to get a job! How can I do this?
