Thank you for Supporting Our Christmas Appeal

The 2025 Christmas season saw an extraordinary level of generosity from our community, allowing Zonta House to support hundreds of women and children experiencing family and domestic violence.

For many families, this time of year can present a range of unique challenges, from heightened violence, financial stress, emotional overwhelm and social isolation.

Thanks to the compassion of individuals, workplaces and community groups, we were able to deliver safety, dignity and moments of joy when they were needed most.

In total, we supported 176 women and 245 children accessing our services, as well as partnering community agencies.

Across the appeal, we received:

  • 76 donations, including gifts, food items and financial contributions.
  • More than $23,000 in donated funds enabled us to provide grocery, retail and experience vouchers, giving women and children the ability to choose what they needed most.
  • Donations of 130 food hampers, ensuring families could enjoy the festive period.

The impact was immediate. One client shared, “The kids are going to be so happy… I usually never have anything for me. I really appreciate this.” Another described the experience as feeling “like Christmas had already arrived”.

Staff feedback from one of our community service partners included “this is amazing!” “She is going to be so happy!”, and “Zonta really comes through in a pinch, amazing!”

They also reported “One client couldn’t believe it, and how much easier it would make things after her ex took all the food and gifts, she had been panicking about what to do”

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed. Your support reflects our shared commitment to ensuring victim-survivors are not left without, and can rebuild their lives with dignity, respect and choice.

Our seasonal appeals continue throughout the year. We are currently seeking donations to support children returning to school, and our Easter collection begins in March.
