Rossmoyne Community Appeal

Tucker Fresh IGA Rossmoyne is inviting its local community to get behind an annual Christmas Appeal, which this year is aiming to assist more than 300 families experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV).

Continuing a tradition that began five years ago and grown stronger every year, Tucker Fresh IGA Rossmoyne is asking customers to add to a collection for food hampers that will be given to local families in need this Christmas.

Tucker Fresh IGA Rossmoyne Customer Service Manager, Narelle Smyth said the initiative had been so well supported by the local community, it was an easy decision to put the call out once again.

“We would love to be able to provide a bit of Christmas cheer and relief to families experiencing FDV this festive season by offering hampers full of essentials and goodies,” she said.

“Our customers and community have shown their generosity year and year again, so we’re hoping they will once again get behind us and help families at Zonta House.

“This is my Christmas. It’s what I look forward to each year, which has become a tradition for our store family and our generous community.”

Zonta House Refuge Association CEO Kelda Oppermann said with the rising cost of living and the unique challenges faced by families impacted by FDV, Christmas can be an especially difficult time.

“We are so grateful to Tucker Fresh IGA Rossmoyne and their community for being so willing and forthcoming to help us provide food essentials to the families we support,” she said.

“This appeal gives everyone the chance to help in a small way that makes a big difference – it’s a gesture from community offering dignity, providing relief and what we hope, contributing to new happy memories at what can be an incredibly challenging time.”

“We are aiming to provide support to over 300 people this Christmas, and we acknowledge and give thanks to Narelle and her team for investing their time, energy, and love into this collection once again.”

Anyone can donate to the collection, just visit Tucker Fresh IGA Rossmoyne, purchase an extra non-perishable food item or Christmas treat, and after checkout, drop it into the collection point under the Christmas tree.

Tucker Fresh IGA Rossmoyne is located in the Rossmoyne Shopping Centre at 55 Central Road, Rossmoyne.

The last day to donate is Thursday, 11 December.
