Positive Pathways Program

Welcome to Positive Pathways

Positive Pathways is a unique specialist program offering an extensive range of supports for victims/survivors. It follows a workshop-based format, provided free of charge to all women.

Women can engage with Positive Pathways at any point in their journey, regardless of whether they are seeking to leave an abusive relationship or not. We recognise that women need different types of support at different times, and the best way to provide this support is through a flexible, coordinated and holistic system that adapts to their evolving needs.

Positive Pathways breaks down the barriers and challenges that victims/survivors often face when seeking information and support. Our program prioritises the well-being and security of women, offering a variety of workshops within a convenient one-stop shop format. This ensures that women can access the support they need without navigating multiple agencies.

Our workshops encompass education, skill-building, self-care, and fostering social connections, all within the context of FDV and trauma-informed practices.

We offer:

  • Workshops that are educational, therapeutic, holistic and creative
  • Inter-agency Advocacy & Referrals
  • Coaching

Positive Pathways has brought back my confidence. I now have belief in myself. I am living again, renewed.

Available all year round, Positive Pathways offers a mixture of half day, one day and weekly workshops which are informative, fun and interactive. We aim to create a safe and welcoming environment to women and children in the community who have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence.

This program provides much more than education – it is a holistic integrative approach looking at both physical and emotional-wellbeing, and practical life skills.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am not currently engaged in any other Zonta House services, can I still attend?

Absolutely! You do not need to be engaged with any of our services to attend our free programs and events. We respect and welcome women from all cultures to attend Positive Pathways.

What should I expect on my first workshop?

Expect a warm welcome from our staff. While each workshop may differ in content, they are all kept purposefully small, usually up to 10 or 12 participants per class. You will be encouraged, but not forced, to take part. Many women shared they experienced feeling a strong sense of community, belonging and acceptance.

How much does it cost?

Nothing at all. All Positive Pathways workshops and events are free to attend, with thanks to our funders and donors.

Do I need to attend more than one workshop?

There are no set number of workshops you must attend. Although we do encourage trying an assortment of classes as each one offers different learning opportunities and experiences. Whether it’s art or sound therapy, mindfulness and meditation, yoga, cooking or financial education, each workshop aims to help nurture a woman’s self-esteem, and assist in regaining a sense of self, confidence and independence.

What do I need to bring?

Just bring you and we will take care of the rest!
