Too often, people want to help but worry about saying the wrong thing, making the situation worse, or not knowing where to turn. FDV First Aid helps bridge that gap by providing safe, clear and practical tools that support victim-survivor safety, dignity, choice and empowerment.

FDV First Aid empowers you with the confidence and practical skills to safely recognise, respond to and refer someone experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV).

Our workplace training builds confidence to recognise warning signs, respond safely, and support individuals to access appropriate services, while also building capability to prevent violence before it occurs.

Trusted by the WA Community

Zonta House Refuge Association has been a steadfast service in Western Australia for more than 40 years, delivering frontline assistance and accommodation to families impacted by FDV.

Our training is evidence-based and informed by lived experience of victim-survivors, delivered by experienced facilitators.

In the 2024/25 financial year, we achieved:

  • Delivery of 3,000 workshops
  • 95% of participants felt more confident responding to FDV
  • Participants reported a 48% increase in identidying, and confidently responding to FDV

What our training participants say:

This is very valuable training, and as a man I would
like to see more men taking this training on. I think
more men should be encouraged to do this training,
as the burden of domestic violence is largely
carried by women and children in society. More men
need to come on board to help solve this
.

As a result of participating, I now feel better
equipped to understand barriers to disclosing or
leaving and recognise and respect resistance of
victim-survivors in FDV situations.

The presenters were incredibly professional and
knowledgeable. The entire presentation was
informative. I was able to consolidate prior
knowledge whilst adding plenty to my tool kit.
